Pre-Race Notice - Please Read

1) Parking. New This Year: All vehicles should park in the field off of Saunders Drive. There is access from the field parking lot to the school. Please see the following map for details. The new Municipal Offices on Milles Roches Road are in use for another event. Please refrain from parking at the Municipal Offices, the school (reserved for volutnteers and food) or along the race course. Volunteers will be on site to direct you.

Please DO NOT park on Bethune Ave, Post Road, Milles Roche Road or Kent Crescent as these streets are used for the event.

2) Facilities. The event takes place at the Longue Sault Public School. This is an elementary school. There are no showers and there is limited washroom facilities. There will be 2 porta-johns located outside the front of the school. Please be patient, we are doing the best we can with the budget we have.

3) Event Registration. Bib Pick-up begins at 8:15am in the school gymnasium. There will be a single table for the 2km event, 3 tables for the 5km event and 2 tables for the 10km event. The 5km and 10km events will be separated alphabetically by last name. No changes to registrations will be allowed after Sunday October 31st. All bibs need to be picked up by 9:45am. Sportstats Timing Chips will be picked up inside the gymnasium on the stage. If the event does not sell out in advance there will be no race day registration available on a first-come first-served basis. Check the website for last minute availability.

4) Event Start Times. The 10km Run will start at 10:00am. The 5km Run/Walk will start at 10:10am. The 2km event starts at 11:30am.

5) Food. Chili will be served starting at 10:30am in the lunch room in the school. There will be no tables or chairs so practice your "eating standing up" skills until race day.

6) Cost. This event is free for everyone. The Cornwall Multisport Club, along with the help of their sponsors, are covering the cost of the event. In lieu of fees, we are asking participants to make a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Cornwall/SDG. The Boys & Girls Club of Cornwall/SDG will most likely be overwhelmed (and overjoyed) at the generosity of participants. To minimize the length of the donation line please complete a pledge form in advance, even for a single donation if you would like a charitable receipt.

7) Timing. This event will be timed by Sportstats. Event results will be available on the Sportstats website later in the day.

8) Course. The course map is on the website, study it in advance. Volunteers will be along the course to guide you. The course is open to local traffic only and traffic will beinformed of the event during their travels. Please be aware of vehicular traffic at all times. Since the course is not closed we would prefer if mp3/ipod/music players were not worn during the event. If it is an absolute must please be considerate and only use one ear piece to be attentive to traffic and others around you. The 5km route is 1 loop, and the 10km route is 2 loops of the 5km route. The 2km event is two loops in the immediate vicinity of the school. If you plan on running with a stroller please start at the back of your event. Dogs are not permitted on the course.

9) Thanks. The organizers of the event would like to graciously thank all the volunteers who have signed up, Longue Sault Public School, AllState Insurance, Ontario Provincial Police, Long Sault Volunteer Fire Department, Stormont Township, Justin's No Frills, Cristill Rock, Wendy's, S.D.G & the United Counties, Ontario Dairy Farmers, Sportstats and Short Line Convenience.

10) Post Race. Awards and draw prizes will start at 12:15pm in the gymnasium. You must be present to collect your medal (top 3 M/F in each event) or a draw prize if your name is randomly chosen.

That is all; we hope you have a great time, be sure to thank a volunteer.
